As you may be aware there has been a lot of media coverage on the topic of Emotional well being and the mental health of people in general. We have been working very closely with Hackney Learning Trust. For the academic year 2020-2021, Simon Marks is taking part in the Wellbeing and Mental Health in Schools programme run jointly between Hackney Learning Trust and the Hackney Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) alliance.
As part of our work we have been allocated a specialist to work with us. Dr Carla Levy is the named WAMHS clinician based at Simon Marks Primary School. Carla will be based at Simon Marks one Thursday a month, offering the school support with promoting positive emotional wellbeing amongst pupils and staff.
Carla provides training and consultation to staff and is also available to meet with parents if you would like to discuss any emotional wellbeing issues relating to your child.
Our school has two qualified mental health first aiders; Ms Gulcan Metin Asdoyuran and Mr Robin DasGupta.
