Friends of Simon Marks

The special relationship that exists between the school and parents and carers is particularly striking. We have a highly skilled and widely experienced parent body including barristers, lawyers, journalists, artists, electricians, designers, carpenters and those in the caring professions. Our parents and carers speak a range of languages including Hebrew, Hungarian, Romanian, Turkish and German.

We encourage this richly diverse community to offer their many skills and talents to enhance the educational experience of the children.

There is a thriving Friends of Simon Marks chaired by parents. We organise events that both raise funds for the school and foster a warm, positive atmosphere whilst providing opportunities for lifelong learning and engagement with the community. We organise events throughout the year including an annual Purim party, a family Chanukah celebration and a popular summer fayre. Many thanks to all parents and carers who helped make these events such a success.

After school every Friday for Shabbat, we sell challot from the local Jewish bakery Indig’s Heimishe Bakery.

If you would like to be involved and can offer a helping hand on the day, please contact us.
